The project has a land area of 16.632 square meter (4.11 acres). It was first opened on the 16th of July 1985.

Since the end of 2009, the hotel is managed by Golden Tulip under the brand name "Golden Tulip El Mechtel".

The complex comprises the following:

• A nine floor, four star hotel with a total capacity of 950 beds allocated on 421 rooms and 31 suites.

• A health center with saunas and a massage room.
